As fresh-faced teenagers, they could produce a wall of sound from their fans’ screams as they jumped, bopped, moonwalked and flipped about on stage as the nubile and fit young males that they were.

But twenty years on and the New Youngsters on The Block proved they were a lot more Elderly Men on the Stage as they greeted their fans in Liverpool on their tour last night.

And their fellow pop stars Backstreet Boys, who they have joined forces with for the tour, didn’t fair significantly much better as they looked a tiny slower on their feet than a couple of decades ago.

Not a Zimmerframe in sight: But 25 years considering that they very first dominated the charts, the New Youngsters on The Block and the Backstreet Boys looked less like the agile young men that utilised to bounce around on stage

It is hardly surprising, what with the oldest member of New Kids becoming Jon Knight, who is 43, and the youngest becoming Joey McIntyre, aged 39.

And even though their stage buddies hit the charts six years right after they did, they had been hardly giving Justin Bieber a run for his income either.

Can you don’t forget the words? The New Kids sung a few of their hits on their personal…

… and sent their fans into a frenzy as they performed the moves – albeit a tiny less energetically – that made them chart toppers back in the 80s

Not that it mattered to the thousands of screaming girls – who are truly now women about the same age as their former idols – in the Echo Arena.

In truth, it could have been the late Eighties all more than once more when the New Children -  Joey, Jon, his brother Jordan, 41, Danny Wood and Donnie Wahlberg, each 42, both came on stage.

Been in the health club a lot? The guys flashed their torsos which possibly caused a few fainting fits in the front rows

Hanging hard or stuck in that position? The boys looked a lot far more awkward trying to dance like they did as teenagers

They treated their former, and present, fans to a medley of their hits such as Hangin’ Hard, You Got it (The Correct Stuff), Step By Step and Tonight as effectively as a couple of their a lot more current offerings such as Summertime.

All the lads came out on a elevated stage to open the concert with a mash-up of the New Youngsters song Single and the BSB song The One mixed in with the instrumental  of Coldplay’s Viva La Vida.

The BSB also came on and sung separate to their peers, sending their fans into a frenzy with some of their most significant hits like I Want It That Way and Backstreet’s back.

Liverpool was their initial English date possessing played Belfast and Dublin this weekend.

Their European leg comes after the hugely successful NKOTBSB tour in North America in August and September.

Though each huge during their heyday, the two five-pieces never ever overlapped, with NKOTB disbanding when Backstreet had been starting to make waves in the music industry.

NKOTB bandmember Donnie Wahlberg, 42, stated: ‘Our fans want us overseas, so that is what we will do.

‘We have such dedicated fans, and they continue to come out for us time and time once again. Our international fans have been flying to see us stateside for years, so now we are coming to them.’

Jerry Sandusky claims he’s not a pedophile, but also admits showering with young boys … in his first interview since the Penn State scandal broke.

Sandusky talked to Bob Costas, and admitted … “I have horsed around with kids. I have showered after workouts. I have hugged them and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact.”

During the interview, which airs tonight on NBC’s “Rock Center” … Sandusky claims he is innocent … and concedes, “I shouldnt’ have showered with those kids.”

Vivid Entertainment president Steven Hirsch thinks Sasha Grey is the porn version of Jackie Robinson … hoping she’s opened the door for other adult stars to read books to kids.

As TMZ first reported, Sasha read children’s books at Emerson Elementary School in Compton on November 2 as part of the Read Across America program. Even though we have photos of Sasha reading to kids, a rep for the school denies she was ever there. 

Regardless, Hirsch fired off a letter commending the school for allowing Grey to appear. In the letter, Hirsch offers up two of his stars — Chyna and Allie Haze — as possible future volunteers.

So he’s saying there are three porn stars who can read? Who knew?

Michelle Duggar, who is pregnant with her 20th child, has made the understatement of all time, saying having that many kids probably isn’t for everyone.

With 18 of her 19 kids still at home, one on the way and two grandchildren, how does Michelle get any rest? “I am taking a power nap every day,” she says.

“And I’m eating a lot of protein and green vegetables and no caffeine, which is a new thing for me,” says the 45-year old star of 19 Kids and Counting.

Michelle and husband Jim Bob Duggar, 46, were believed to have stopped their baby making ways after daughter Josie’s life-threatening preeclampsia.

Not the case.

“I read up a lot on preeclampsia [while pregnant with Josie],” says Michelle, “It is a crazy, random thing. I have been getting counseled from a high-risk pregnancy doctor in Little Rock and taking good care of myself.”

The family’s frightening journey with Josie – born at only 25 weeks and weighing just over a pound in 2009 – was documented on 19 Kids and Counting.

Michael Jackson‘s parents — along with La Toya, Jermaine and Randy — are currently scrambling to get to the L.A. County Courthouse after they were notified the jury had reached a verdict in the Conrad Murray manslaughter case.

The entire crew is traveling from Calabasas, which — if traffic is good — can take somewhere between 45 mins to an hour. 

We’re told the family is “anxious.”

MJ’s kids are staying at home with other family members. We’re told they were instructed NOT to watch the verdict live — so Katherine could break the news herself when she got home.

With the fate of Conrad Murray nonetheless hanging in the balance, Michael Jackson‘s kids — Prince, Blanket and Paris (in the white hat) — went to the movies last night and saw “Tower Heist.”

According to our sources, Katherine has been filling the youngsters in on the particulars of the trial herself — she’d rather they hear it from her and not via anybody else.

We’re told when the verdict comes down, Katherine will be the 1 to tell them the news.

Jurors did not reach a verdict on Friday and deliberations will continue Monday morning.

What does Kelly Clarkson see in her future?

“Hopefully I’m … married with four kids,” the singer says in a new interview with The Daily Beast. “I love what I do right now, but I live a very single life.”

Continues Clarkson, 29: “I’m enjoying that, but I don’t plan on doing this forever.”

She just released her fifth album, Stronger, but she doesn’t want to record music forever. She says that once she settles down with a man and starts a family, her career will take a backseat.

“I don’t know if I’ll retire,” she says, “but it won’t be as full-on. Obviously things will supersede music.”

Perhaps she’s taken some inspiration from her American Idol pal, Clay Aiken, who has a 4-year-old son Parker and has since stopped recording new music.

“I haven’t seen Parker since he [was] a baby,” Clarkson says. “Clay sends me little updated pictures. That kid is freaking adorable.”

As for her love life right now, Clarkson is single – but happy with that.

“I haven’t been in a bad relationship in years,” she says, adding that most of the men she sings about in her song aren’t recent boyfriends.

Would she ever consider online dating?

“Oh, God no! ‘Oh, hey, I’m Kelly Clarkson: want to go on a date?’ That wouldn’t work for me,” she says, “unless I lied to them, and I’m not going to lie to someone off the bat.”

“Pregnant Man” Thomas Beatie with family

The formerly pregnant man is now a dad to three kids, and he’s brought his entire brood together for a TV interview.

Thomas Beatie, who shot to fame after becoming the first known legal man to become pregnant and give birth, will appear with his three children and his wife, Nancy, on Monday’s The Doctors to talk about life in a non-traditional family.

Beatie began life as a woman and legally switched to a male identity, while preserving his female reproductive organs. He made headlines in 2007 after pictures of his bearded face and pregnant belly became public.

Beatie will talk about how people have reacted to the transgendered dad and his family – which includes daughter Susan and sons Austin and Jensen – and also discusses the medical complications that come from years of hormone treatments and bearing three children.

Another problem? Beatie says he’s struggled with body-after-baby, and seeks help from the doctors on how to snap back into shape after three kids.

He also may never be a pregnant man again: Beatie reveals he’s thinking about getting a hysterectomy.

Quality time with the grandparents!

That’s what Angelina Jolie‘s children enjoyed this weekend, as the actress took the kids for an outing in Budapest, Hungary, with Brad Pitt‘s parents, Jane and Bill Pitt.

Jolie and the elder Pitts took Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne to the Ujbuda Center, a shopping and entertainment complex, where they visited the Elevenpark play center.

The Jolie-Pitts have been spending lots of time in Hungary since Jolie directed her first feature there last year. That film, In the Land of Blood and Honey, opens in the U.S. on Dec. 23.

In August, Jolie and Pitt’s older kids spent some quality time with their maternal grandfather, Jon Voight, in London.
